a stitch in time saves nine
He who kisses joy as it flies by will live in eternity's sunrise. - William Blake
once again i’m coming in with an of the moment, off the cuff, stone mind drop. i don’t know what it all means or why it comes out as it does. but something about these of the moment moments is where my heart has been as it pertains to my sharing on this cool platform called substack. anyway, thanks for stopping by and know that i appreciate you!
love is all there is. in the depths of sorrow. in the throws of passion. in the quiet moments of reflection. in the fire of anger. in the grip of fear. love is all there is.
step into life like your life depends on it. even if it hurts. especially if it hurts. the quality of you life is directly related to how you show up every fucking day no matter what life throws at you. cease the day. and whatever happens, happens. ain’t nothing you can do about that but you sure as fuck can decided how you are going to respond to whatever happens.
i’ve been fascinated by the human hand since i was a kid. hands are as cool as can be to me. so many powerful life moments we made possible because of my hands. i fractured my hand once. surgeries and pins and plates and screws. changed my life it did. hand no idea that human hands and dolphin fins looked so much alike. i love it when i learn new things and have my mind and perceptions blown.
stress is unavoidable. some of it is good. to much is not. find a path that works for you to navigate stress in a healthy way, so it works to your advantage.
our individual and collective health is reflected in our minds, bodies and spirits. we can’t hide from it. ever. eventually all chickens come home to roost.
strange times we living in. i don’t care who you sleep with. who you love. what you want to dress like. it’s all cool by me. but in my humble opinion men are men and women are women and we human animals can never be otherwise. and to believe that we can and to act on that false perception shows how lost and confused we presently are.
as the saying goes… opinions are like. i pretty much keep mine to myself in casual, surface level conversation. unless i am asked for it. and then i have no hesitation to share it. but at this point in my life i refuse to get dragged into an argument with anyone. time and peace of mind are to precious to me.
so a few years ago i wrote a song and another quote of gandhi’s was part of the inspiration (‘be the dream you wish to see in the world’) i did not know this quote of his but as soon as i saw it i was reminded of this song. it’s titled no tomorrow and here it is:
can we love like there’s no tomorrow because in truth there is none
this is all a sacred dream will you dance with me as one
when will we stop all the killing? when will we feed every child?
we must be the dream we wish to see, greet each other with a smile
can we love like there’s no tomorrow because in truth there is none
this is all a sweet mystery will you dance with me as one
the journey itself is your home be still and go within
the spark of life you will ignite with a beginners mind begin
can we love like there’s no tomorrow because in truth there is none
this is all a sacred dream will you dance with me as one
can we love like there’s no tomorrow because in truth there is none
this is all a sweet mystery will you dance with me as one
i’ve worked as a personal trainer, substance abuse counselor, massage therapist, substitute teacher, bike messenger, dump truck driver, art class model, landscaper, production assistant and most recently a health and wellness coach. don’t even know why i mention this but that’s what happens when you are stream of consciousness writing something. anyway, we’ve complicated the fuck out of what it means to be healthy and stay healthy. i’d say mr. chaplin is pretty on point here, mother nature set it up this way, but we’ve lost our way.
once upon a time… every story we tell creates the world we inhabit. what story are you telling yourself and bringing to the world?
